In light of recent attempts in the internet space to control information, events, narratives, and even people, more and more individuals have chosen to express their resistance to the public in a stance of anonymity. It is how this current publication operates as well.

History has shown the power of what expressing strong opinions through remaining anonymous can do in the events of tyranny and the abuse of power. Many authors studied out subjects thoroughly and remained attentive to the social and economic events taking place in their moment in time. Some were even hailed as patriots for their efforts and we admire them today for their love of country.

However, in our present time on the internet, many have instead taken the title of “troll” or “anons”. These are people who criticize without value, without responsibility, and without a published standard for right or wrong. They speak for the sole purpose of seeing other parties respond emotionally for a sense of entertainment. This is an abuse of anonymity and a waste of the public forum as we live in a time full of crucial events.
